Review: Since I love the SW Aviator Style #783, I chose one in Silver Frame with Smoke Lens and the other in Grey Frame with Rose Lens. Meet Melanie Hurley: Melanie Hurley, founder of Piggy Paint™. She is a stay-at-home mom with two very fancy little girls, ages 2 and 4, who love to have their fingernails painted. She always hated the thought of her kiddos putting their hands in their mouths after she painted their nails with traditional kid polishes. Not only did the ingestion of the chemicals worry her, but the smell nearly left her light-headed after painting two sets of fingernails and toenails.
One day while they were painting nails over a foam plate, her daughter dropped a glob of her solvent-based polish onto the plate. Shortly after, the paint began to bubble and “ate” through the plate. She looked in dismay at the hole in the plate and decided to test all of her other “kid” polishes on the foam. Within minutes, ALL of the solvent-based polishes began to bubble and eventually left big holes in the plate. From that day on, she decided that any flammable substance that could eat through foam was unacceptable for her girls fingernails, which would inevitably end up in their mouths.
Review: Even though I don't have a little girl of my own, I couldn't resist the opportunity to try out Piggy Paint. I tried out their Piggy Paint Nail Polish in Ice Cream Dream ($9.99), which is a beautiful shade of teal - my favorite color to use when it comes to nail polish. I also tried out their Piggy Paint Remover ($10.50). This nail polish might be mostly aimed at little girls, but I'm very impressed with this line. The nail polish doesn't chip easily. The nail polish remover is much better than any nail polish remover I've ever tried. What I like most about it is, none of these products had a smell, which usually makes my head spin! I've tried another non-toxic nail polish in the past, and it even had that strong nail polish smell that I don't like. Needless to say, Piggy Paint has won me over!
