The Ellie Jean Review

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

The "ellie" jean is designed and sewn in Los Angeles USA specifically to benefit the ellie fund. A generous portion of the selling price goes directly to the ellie fund, which is dedicated to helping women undergoing breast cancer treatment and their families.

My Thoughts: I chose to review the "Ellie" Bootcut Jeans ($119). For someone who is uber picky when it comes to jeans, I love the fit and style of these jeans. Not all brands are true to the size, but this brand nailed it right when it comes down to size. These darkwash, bootcut, mid-rise jeans are made with 98% Cotton and 2% Spandex to ensure an exceptional fit and dreamy like comfort. Pardon my lack of tactfulness, but you will love your booty in these jeans! With all of that being said, these designer jeans are made with the utmost quality. They're perfect for any day and will give you a surge of confidence since they will make you look good. This company offers two models, a curvy bootcut and a high rise straight leg. Between the two, they can fit a lot of women!

Female Spy Inspired Eco-Fashion by Raw Earth Wild Sky

Raw Earth Wild Sky’s Holiday/Winter 2010 "Undercover" collection is inspired by the strong, fearless women from WWII. Each piece takes an alias of a former female spy.

But who are these ladies? Says Raw Earth Wild Sky Designer Samantha Robinson, “Some were celebrities, others lived lives of secrecy in other countries under assumed names with different identities. All of them risked their lives for their countries and believed in freedom. These women were alluring yet mysterious hence our name 'Undercover'.”

Made of organic cotton and manufactured in Los Angeles, the collection consists of earth tones including verde, ivory, charcoal, and black, shown are shown in the photos with 1940's signature dark plum lipstick.

Melie Bianco Review

Saturday, November 27, 2010

Affordable Luxury. That’s the simple philosophy behind the Melie Bianco line. Founded in 2003 by Melissa and William, a husband and wife team, this wildly successful family-owned accessories company has always kept one thing in mind: bringing runway-inspired handbags to the everyday woman.

“I design bags to reflect the season’s trends, but within a budget of women like my sisters,” says Melissa who lives in Los Angeles, where her Melie Bianco line is headquartered. “Women—especially working women—want high-end handbags but at an affordable price.”

When she was a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, Melissa became a master at pulling together chic ensembles on a shoestring budget. One thing she learned: a great accessory could carry nearly any outfit. It was the “A-ha!” moment that would later become her company’s mantra.

Today, Melie Bianco commands a large share of the market for vegan, budget-friendly fashion handbags. Melie Bianco’s designs have been spotted in major fashion magazines like Vogue, Marie Claire, Glamour, Lucky, Instyle, Oprah, Cosmo Girl, Seventeen, Self, People, and Life & Style among others.

The Alexis Eyelet And Studs Flap Over Carryall ($96) is one of my top favorite handbags and that is saying a lot, considering I own a lot of handbags! This particular handbag is offered in four different colors: Blue, Mustard, Red, and Black. I chose the black since it goes with just about anything, but I would love to order the other colors as well. This handbag is super roomy, which is a must for me since I carry a lot! It features gold toned studs and eyelets highlight this flap over carryall, which you can hold close or wear it over your shoulder. Button snap and zipper closure adds that extra security you are looking for. It is beautiful, classy, and let's not mention the endless compliments that you'll receive!

Donning a whimsical and sophisticated look, the Keyhole Ring ($22) from their Cabaret Collection will take you to another time and place. A careful glance through the keyhole may yield a glimpse of something wondrous. This eccentric, yet beautiful piece will stand out amongst the ho-hum accessories out there. Zeugari Review and Giveaway

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Prize: Three winners will receive a kaftan of their choice (a $260 - $380 value) from Zeugari.

Sign the Google Spreadsheet above.

Entry Limit: Daily

Note: You can list bonus entries separately or all in one entry - your choice!

Zeugari Beachwear is a boutique design house that creates, markets and distributes a line of swimwear and resort wear that serve up a sexy, sophisticated, high fashion style - all with a contemporary lifestyle.

Guy Boucher’s perfect combination of exclusive designs and fresh style caters to clients seeking a captivating look that is uniquely their own. Zeugari fills the void in the current contemporary swimwear market by offering luxury - inspired swimwear with a collection that embodies cohesive sophisticated high fashion. Zeugari’s cross generational collection emphasizes beautiful fabrics, one of a kind hardware imported from Italy and a flawless fit. The collection is available in a wide range of price points. The average retail price is $200.

The Zeugari line is prominently featured in top fashion publications including American Curves, Beyond Fitness, In Style, In Touch, Life and Style, OK Magazine, Peace, Sports Illustrated, Star magazine, Swimsuits 2007 Magazine, 2009 Swimsuit Calendar and more. Celebrities have been spotted wearing Zeugari including Ashanti, Kim Kardashian, Fergie, Bridget Marquardt, Demi Moore, Heidi Montag, Jayde Nicole, Lauren Conrad, Mena Suvari and Paris Hilton, to name a few.

When we were asked to feature a review on a Kaftan of Zeugari's, we decided on the Kaftan V-Neck. Originally $280, you can buy it for $120. This is a breezy Deep V-neck Kaftan with full sleeves adorned with turquoise and gold beads. It emphasizes the beautiful fabric of 100% silk. The hardware, which is one of a kind imported from Italy, was a little too much for me at first since it made the Kaftan heavy, and I just can't stand to wear anything too heavy. I'll have to say that it's definitely sophisticated high fashion and I can't wait to wear it next summer when I hit the beach.

Second Base Holiday Collection Review

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

I reviewed the Brittany Demi Cami from Second Base in the past, but I recently received a couple of camis from the Second Base Holiday Collection, the Heidi ($36) and Tricia $38). I love wearing these camis underneath low cut tops or dresses, because they give me the amount of the coverage that I want without flaunting it all. They fit very well and are extremely comfortable! They are better than regular camis since they don't add bulk or ride up around the waist. Another cami from their Holiday Collection is the Lesley ($36); which adds a sparkle to just about any party dress, sweater, or low-cut top.

Some expectant mothers like to wear Second Base throughout their pregnancy for extra cleavage coverage. Cleavage discreet can be a bit of an ongoing challenge during pregnancy. Others are wearing them when they start breastfeeding - like "Good Day LA" host Jillian Reynolds, who included the camis in her baby shower gift bag in December for her friends and celebrity guests.

Second Base apparel is available at select boutiques and shopsecondbase.com.

I styled the Ursula Messenger Bag ($740), which was sent to me for reviewing. What a bag! This bag was made in Thailand. It was designed with premium quality leather featuring both a leather shoulder strap and a gold-plated multi-chain strap creating an alluring appeal. It may also be worn as a handbag, which is the way I wore it. The 24 karat gold-plated "treasure of the sea" ornament is hammered by hand to give each bag a unique quality.

One of the best trends of the season is the Ursula Messenger Bag, which is an eye-catching bag with modern style! This classic is a must have to put that laptop in, or carry as a handbag this season.

Felice's Tip: This must-have accessory will take you from spring right into fall. The unusual hue adds character to summer pastels and is equally at home with a navy blazer or camel tweed sweater.
