Miraclesuit Review

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

I believe that it is a miracle when I stumble on the perfect swimsuit, but I think many of us women feel this way since it isn't easy finding the right one. Many of us would opt for a Root Canal than to have our bits and pieces show. This is what makes Miraclesuit new and refreshing since it contours, shapes, slims and firm the body with their innovative Miratex fabric; which has three times the spandex than the run-of-the-mill swimwear of today. The Miraclesuit swimsuits make you appear 10 lbs. lighter within 10 seconds, the time it takes to slip it on. You don't have to worry about painful and uncomfortable girdle linings since their swimsuits don't include extra linings or bulk - just all-over control and comfort!

The Miraclesuit swimsuits are designed for all shapes and sizes. Their collection also appeals to women of all ages, because there is something for every woman! The Miraclesuits are designed with various types of bust support, including soft cups, foam bras, discreet underwires and foam bras with underwires. Therefore, you can get the support you want and need. Their swimsuits are also designed with draping, shirring, pleating and skirts to accentuate your best features while camouflaging your troublesome spots.

I received the Miraclesuit® 'Camila' One Piece in Navy Blue, which you can buy at one of my favorite online retailers, Nordstrom.com for $142 in Black or Electric Blue. It comes with optional shoulder straps, but I believe that opting for the strapless look as featured in the picture makes it more appealing and sexier. The feminine and romantic shirring through the bodice adds a touch of class and modesty. Due to the high spandex content, this suit fits small. Therefore, I recommend ordering a size up to ensure a perfect fit. I immediately felt a surge of confidence after slipping on this swimsuit when I first received it, because it fits perfectly and is utterly comfortable without making me feel like I'm wearing a girdle.

Leah & Bliss Glamazon Bags

Saturday, July 24, 2010

New York City Fashion Week 2010:
Intrepid style photographers catch sparkly Glamazon bags on the arms of elite fashionistas. Fashion blogs erupt into fierce speculation: who covered this genuine Italian leather handbag in glittering jewelry and lovingly hand-stitched stone work? Is it an original creation? Where can we get one? Lucky for them (and YOU), the Glamazon is a unique design: high fashion translated into an affordable, easy-to-wear handbag for the style-conscious girl.

Meet up-and-coming young designers Leah and Bliss. Two fashion-forward friends whose effortless style and knack for accessorizing inspired them to create their own line of distinctive,eye-catching bags. Leah is a sassy but sweet girl with a passion for glamorous purses. A savvy trend-spotter who grew up coveting the latest designer bags, she always dreamed of creating her own collection. Now, after years of gathering inspiration from 5th Avenue shops and SoHo boutiques, she finally has. But she didn't do it alone.

Bliss is a trend-setting Upper East Side girl with a keen eye for quality. She always knows exactly what she wants, and very often wants it spangled with jewelry. Applying her hipness radar to handbags, Bliss provided the essential bit of sparkly magic to create the ideal fashion accessory: The Glamazon Bag. It's the perfect complement to any outfit, and it comes in a variety of chic styles and vivacious color combos for work or play. Leah & Bliss create unforgettable accessories inspired by friendship, functionality and fashion. They would love to make one just for you!

Teen Vogue Declare Your Denim Event in Times Square

Thursday, July 22, 2010

Teen Vogue is inviting readers and denim lovers to don their favorite pair of jeans and head to Times Square on July 28, 9am-11am, to “Declare Your Denim.” The magazine wants denim fans to join them at Military Island (Broadway, between 43rd and 44th) as it celebrates the August back-to-school issue and all things denim. The event will feature a charity denim drive, in partnership with Fashion Delivers Charitable Foundation, to benefit victims of the Gulf Coast oil disaster; consumers can donate $5 to have a new pair of denim donated from one of Teen Vogue's denim sponsors, or donate a new pair of their own.

Additionally, Teen Vogue has collaborated with Essie on a limited edition nail polish, aptly named “Declare Your Denim,” to celebrate back to school fashion and everyone’s favorite fall fashion staple: the classic blue jean. “Declare Your Denim,” a bold, true blue polish, will be gifted with every donation/purchase of denim, while supplies last.

The event will also feature roving photographers snapping photos of young women in their denim to be displayed live on the Times Square Jumbotron. Teen Vogue It Girls will also be distributing free copies of the August special denim section.

Out of Print Clothing Giveaway

Monday, July 19, 2010

Prize: One winner will receive two shirts of their choice from Out of Print Clothing.

Sign the Google Spreadsheet above.

Entry Limit: Daily

Note: You can list bonus entries separately or all in one entry - your choice!

Out of Print celebrates the world’s great stories through fashion. Their shirts feature iconic and often out of print book covers. Some are classics, some are just curious enough to make great t-shirts, but all are striking works of art.

They work closely with artists, authors and publishers to license the content that ends up in their collections. Each shirt is treated to feel soft and worn like a well-read book.

In addition to spreading the joy of reading through their tees, they acknowledge that many parts of the world don't have access to books at all. They are working to change that. For each shirt they sell, one book is donated to a community in need through their partner Books For Africa.

Tales of the Jazz Age $28

19 short stories depicting the age of exuberance. One of the more famous stories is “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” which was inspired by Mark Twain’s remark that it was a pity the best part of life came at the beginning and the worst part at the end.

Lord of the Flies $28

Hard to believe Golding's allegorical novel of good versus evil actually went out of print in 1955, one year after first being published. It wasn't until 1959 that the book gained notoriety when printed in paperback. From the 1962 edition cover by George Salter.

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings $28

Maya Angelou's classic autobiography and coming of age story showing the power of books to help heal wounds. From the first edition book cover by Janet Halverson.

Lolita $28

Arguably one of the world's greatest and most controversial stories of obsession. Although written in his second language, none of Nabokov's genius was lost.
