Founded in Hollywood in 2001, Billion Dollar Babes pioneered the multi-designer sample sale, creating a new liquidation vehicle for designers, allowing them to clear stock using an innovative new retail platform that keeps their valuable brand away from the traditional liquidators while reaching out to "creme of the crop" fashionable clients in premium markets worldwide. Billion Dollar Babes quickly elevated the simple designer sale concept into a sophisticated social networking experience complete with flowing cocktails, beauty services, and gift bags. What started as an 'insiders' event at LA's House of Blues, over the years has grown into a large scale phenomenon that has all fashion savvy shoppers eagerly joining the ranks of the Billion Dollar Babes. Sales have been regularly held in Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Chicago, London and Dublin with participating designers ranging from the international powerhouses of Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino and Chloe through to American contemporaries Diane von Furstenberg, Catherine Malandrino and James Perse. In 2009, Billion Dollar Babes introduced online sample sales and now offer the same designer access, discounted merchandise and VIP benefits to fashion savvy shoppers around the world. The website currently features three 48 hour long online sample sales a week and plans to expand in the upcoming months.
