Betsy and Iya Review

Monday, June 21, 2010

Betsy Cross, owner and designer, at Betsy and Iya stays on top of her game! She is telling the truth when she say that she is LARGE. Sometimes in feeling, sometimes in actuality. It's about scale: she brings it up, not down. She designs big pieces, mixed metals, confident entrances. Clunky or intricate. Earthy or Army. But always, always, 100% handmade.

She made a believer in me! I was skeptical when I was opening the package that she sent me to review. It didn't take long for astonishment to set in. I could not and still can't get over the Orange Honey Dangly Doo-Dah Vintage Drip Earrings ($35). My mom was wanting the earrings to go with the orange gown that she'll be wearing to my brother's wedding in August. They are a perfect match. I love these earrings! These vintage orange drips are full of matte, lucite goodness. The ear wires are sterling silver and individually, uniquely hand-formed by Betsy.

You must go to Betsy and Iya to find that beautiful and affordable jewelry. I've already put her on my top jewelers list.
