PB&J Boutique Review

Monday, January 31, 2011

Erica and Martin reside in the beautiful Northern California city of Chico. It is just about a decade ago since they first met in college and now they are running their PB&J family business together. While Erica has extensive expertise in retail Martin is the corporate computer consultant turned web shop technical handyman. They wanted to open a web store since it merged our retail and computer skills and they both share the excitement of running a quality family business together.

The goal with their business is to create the best customer experience possible and to provide the highest quality of products to their customers. They want to bring to their customer-base a mix of casual clothing with a touch of fun fashion too.

The Mystree Layered Tack Button Jacket ($56) is a beautiful, feminine, and unique jacket. I find it to be well fitting and it looks great with just about anything that I wear with it! I also love that the sleeves don't hang, which is kind of a problem for me at times since I don't have long arms. Overall, you can't go wrong with this beautiful and classy jacket! It is available in Black or Grey.

Joseph E. Lewis Double Heel Stilettos Review

Sunday, January 30, 2011

The "double heel stiletto" ($140 - $680) was imagined and designed by American inventor Joseph E. Lewis. An entrepreneur with an innate ability to visualize, conceptualize, and utilize ideation, Mr. Lewis currently holds 3 patents and is patent pending with several other inventions. After playing professional baseball for 6 years, he garnered corporate experience from ESPN and HGTV before launching his own companies. He pulls his creative inspiration from his European adventures, having lived in Italy, Germany, and Holland.

The pain and foot problems stiletto shoes cause is a common issue women fret over. American inventor Joseph E. Lewis has caused the shoe industry to rethink form, function, and fashion by showcasing a product that is both chic and comfortable.

While watching the many mishaps and falls of the recent Miss America Pageants, Mr. Lewis was inspired to take a stand for women's foot health and find a solution to the heel dilemma. His latest design brings "functional fashion" to the forefront of the shoe world.

The "double heel stiletto" incorporates comfort shaping, padding, and an exclusive design that makes wearing heels safe and comfortable without sacrificing elegance. Joseph E. Lewis' innovative heel design balances the body's weight evenly, taking pressure off the feet, bringing comfort to each step.

I was thrilled to receive the Jova Double Heel Stilettos ($140) from Joseph E. Lewis, because I love wearing stilettos. Plus, I had never heard of a double heel stiletto before. Therefore, my curiosity was piqued. So far, I've worn them with my skinny jeans and I have received numerous compliments. When I first tried them on, I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable they were! These heels are stunning, unique, sexy, and a great way to start a conversation. I can't wait to wear them with my dresses when the warm weather hits.

Joseph E. Lewis also has a beautiful double heel stiletto called Vanesa ($680), which is adorned with Swarovski crystals. They're equally stunning and red carpet worthy as the pair I received. I cannot wait to see what else he will add to his shoe line!

Vibrant Fitwear Review

Their mission at Vibrant Fitwear is to provide high-quality, high-end fitness fashion. When your workout clothes make you look good, you feel fantastic, and before you know your workouts go to the next level! Their fitness wear brands are for active women who want exercise clothing to make them look good and feel amazing, in and out of the gym!

The carry the following brands:

Margarita Activewear:

Bia Brazil Activewear:

Bia Brazil clothing is manufactured in Brazil with DuPont Supplex. The entire line is “One Size Fits All” because of the material, it stretches up to 500% (five sizes!) yet it returns to its natural shape. Women who wear sizes 2 – 10 can typically wear Bia Brazil fitness wear. All pants are made with a 33” inseam, which makes them excellent for taller women.

Nina Bucci:

All their products are treated with SWETOUTTM Moisture Management. They use only the best High Performance Fabrics available you will stay dry, cool, and comfortable! Most of their clothes have a snug fit…when determining size, keep in mind that their fabrics are stretchy and may fit a variety of sizes.

The Margarita Pant Rollover in Black/Green Camo ($72.95) that I received are fun and flattering on the figure since they fit exceptionally well, while giving you a slimmer appearance. I wore these to Zumba class one day and I don't believe I have ever received so many compliments in one day! Featuring a flare leg, this particular style comes in Black, Green Camo, Purple, or White. They also run a bit large. Therefore, you may want to go down a notch, size wise. They would look fabulous with the Margarita Top Cross-Back Triangle ($55.95).

The Civilian Press Review

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

As a concept in 2007 the launch of the Civilian Press is far from an overnight project. Artist Anthony Gonzales (aka tonymash) has been weaving through the Orange County art & music scene for over a decade. Developing designs and brands for clothing companies, boutiques, record labels, album covers, corporate branding, and major music events such as hootenanny and an artwork collaboration of Kat Von D for the first annual MUSINK music and tattoo festival 2008. Looking for an outlet for his own vision and expression, The Civilian Press was born. Attracting a broad range of fans with sensual designs in hand with Dia De Los Muertos elements, The Civilian Press appeals to the alternative crowd, just as much as it has been welcomed by the urban and artisan groups. Now with the decision to go all organic with the tee shirt line and being more conscious about environmental impacts of the clothing industry, The Civilian Press is geared up to outfit the Eco-Fashion do-gooders as well.

Tonymash generously sent me the Womens Fatima 100% Organic Cotton Tee ($25) with a special hand-cut (neck and back; $10). This beautifully illustrated and tattoo worthy tee is drop dead gorgeous! The hand-cut in the back makes it even sexier, which is a great way to show off your collar bone, tattoos, and / or shoulder blades. This tee is perfect for pin-up lovers such as myself. Plus, the sensational design makes it super fun to wear since it is a attention getter. Angelic and ethereal as it may be, this is definitely a tee you wouldn't want to wear to church!

Note: Cut(s) will be added to shirt(s) specified in your notes during check out (if you ordered more than one). Be sure to add the correct amount of cuts in your cart, $10 per shirt.

Khombu Review

KHOMBU was launched in 1968 as a waterproof brand designed for outdoor enthusiasts. KHOMBU is actually an ice passage in the Himilayas. As the brand matured, the Apres ski industry embraced the styling and functionality of the product and KHOMBU became very popular during the 70’s and 80’s with ski resorts. As the brand continued to grow and expand it’s product line, KHOMBU found its niche in footwear, department and specialty athletic stores as a highly functional, fashionable, affordable brand. KHOMBU has also expanded into year round product, setting trends in categories such as rain and outdoor, interpreting this into functional lifestyle product for the whole family.

KHOMBU is able to hit upon numerous categories of fashion and trend. The classics cover the basic styles and entry price point. Their fashion product captures the boot trends of the season while providing a functional product. The apres product is faster, fun, usage of new material and fur in many cases, very novel styles. Outdoor product takes the trends from hiking and athletic and applies them to functional winter active styles.

KHOMBU boots are weatherproof and waterproof – all categories and styles are guaranteed leak proof. They use membrane technology in most styles and waterproof materials to make their boots leak proof. They use different weights of thermolite insulation to obtain a cold rating. All boots are cold rated to a minimum of –20 and some styles are cold rated to –40. They use molded foot beds with anti-bacteria, wicking, breathable, and odor absorbing qualities.

I was so excited when I saw the Solar 2 Boot ($150) in the Fall Collection that was sent to me. Boots are a winter must, but finding comfort without sacrificing style can be a impossible. Yes, comfort meets style in these boots. These are a must have cozy comfort boot. Put skinny jeans on, and you’ll be wishing you could wear these fashionable boots in 80 degree weather.

Let it Snow! These boots feature waterproof suede, POLIYOU insole with thermolite, moisture wicking, fur lining, non-slip outsole, and are anti-fungal, breathable. fast drying, shock absorbing, insulated, and are cold rated to -20.

Get cozy in fur! It's all about the fur for me this winter. I want the perfect touch of fur to complete my outfit. Lace it...a fashion trend! The laces in the back come to the front to be tied. These boots have glamorous details that will always make you stand out in a crowd. You can strut your stuff by getting glam with these sexy and sleek boots. Put you best foot forward and order KHOMBU boots.

Under $20 bucks, the Turning a New Leaf Necklace ($19.25) is the ultimate statement necklace. Pictures of this necklace hardly do any justice for how beautiful it is in person. Despite the price, it looks expensive and adds a sophisticated touch to any outfit. What makes it even nicer is that it is made with recycled metal in a rhodium finish. You couldn't help but fall in love if you had this necklace!
