SPROOS Hair Accessories Review

Monday, January 02, 2012

Melissa Matos launched Sproos in May 2011 after an inspiring trip to Tokyo in 2009. She found many chic and sassy hair accessories on her trip. Therefore, she was inspired to create accessories accessible to the every day woman and her budget. She feels that you shouldn’t have to buy a whole new outfit to feel you have variety in your wardrobe. Adding subtle or vibrant accessories to your clothes can make all the difference, and we couldn't agree more!

I used to hate to wear headbands, because they would hurt my ears. Also, many were generic looking. They have come a long way since then, because most of them no longer hurt and there are many fashionable choices out there. The Darling Bow Headband ($17) has to be one of the cutest styles I've come across so far! It's chic, elegant, and it will make your tresses stand out even more. It also looks beautiful with just about anything.

I thought that hair bows were specifically reserved for children, but I changed my mind after a year ago when I bought a couple of cute hair bow barrettes off of etsy. I've become slightly addicted to wearing them since then. They are a fun and youthful way to play up your style without looking tacky or childish. True to name, the Perfectly Sweet Bow Barrettes ($16) can be worn separately or together when styling your hair. I recently donned the black hair bow barrette with one of my favorite black blouses, and I received several compliments.

I also received the Cheetah Bow Clip ($13), and I immediately fell in love with it since I'm fond of that style. I already had a couple of leopard print hair barrettes, but didn't have more of a "simplistic" one in my collection. I have one that has Marilyn Monroe on it and the other has a Dia de los Muertos skull on it. Also, I love that not only you can wear this in your hair, but it has a pin on it where you can pin it up on your favorite dress or blouse!
