KristenJones NYC: Versatile, User-Friendly Clothing

Kristen Clement's path to NYC’s fashion world was as unique as her vision. After receiving an Individual Studies Degree with a focus on Business at the University of Maryland in 2000, and a few years in working in the real world a change was needed. She made her way to the beach and the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, graduating with a degree in Fashion Design in 2006. After working in Children’s Wear, Clement, never one to do the obvious, took the next logical step for someone who hadn’t seen a winter in years – she ditched the sun for New York.

All the while, slowly developing a unique vision that would lead to her first women's line, Kristen Jones. Kristen drew from her own experience to provide women with something she wished she had, items that could become consistent staples of a wardrobe and still look new, each and every time. Designed to give women staple pieces with options, each garment inspires multiple looks and can be worn in a variety of ways. Perfect for those who want to use their clothes to showcase their individuality, a skirt can be worn as a top, a shirt can be worn back to front or inside out, and so on.

One skirt, two options = endless possibilities. The Reversible Skirt ($85; Available in Dark Moss/Steel Grey, Steel Grey/Etherea, or Cream/Steel Grey) is a simple, yet flattering piece that reverses from Steel Grey to Cream and vice versa, which matches the Tank Top ($45; Available in Etherea, Cream, Dark Moss, or Steel Grey) perfectly. I paired the comfortable duo with the Pop Color Tagua Stone Necklace ($98) to give it a burst of color, which surprisingly balanced out well, especially with the tank top since grey is known to be a moody, dreary color.

Made entirely in the U.S., the line is available online at kristenjonesnyc.com. The collection ranges from $40 - 150.
